The Hungarian driver Zoltan Lazar drove snow white Lipizzaner horses to victory in the ZENTIS-Prize at the CHIO Aachen 2010, World Equestrian Festival. The Hungarian completed the obstacle course without picking up any faults in a time of 78.08 seconds. The 37-year-old started his equestrian sport career as a show-jumper and then changed disciplines in 1990. In 1997 he crowned his career by taking the World Championship title in Riesenbeck. Second and third place both went to Germany: Rainer Duen’s four-in-hand team also drove clear crossing the finish line in 81.65 seconds. Christoph Sandmann ranked third with a time of 89.81.

This means that the decision has already fallen in the second classification competition of the Nations Cup of the Drivers. For the first time ever the obstacle driving competition took place before the Marathon, which follows tomorrow afternoon. In order to increase the tension in the Marathon, the current leader competes last. “We have introduced this change to make the driving sport even more exciting, because the winner is clear as soon as the Marathon competition is over,” reported Frank Kempermann, Show Director of the CHIO Aachen.
