Christilot Boylen Acquires FAMOUS BOY

New partnership an exciting development for Canadian dressage

April 16, 2010 - With five months until the World Equestrian Games, Christilot Boylen, Canada's most experienced Grand Prix rider has a new horse!

Boylen, a veteran of seven Olympics and one of Canada’s most renowned equestrians, has just acquired the 13-year-old Oldenberg gelding FAMOUS BOY, by Feiner Stern. The handsome bay has had many Grand Prix successes under his former rider Bianca Kasselman, including the GP victory in Leipzig. Three Canadian sporting families (The FAMOUS BOY Group) have made the acquisition of this horse from Hof Kasselman possible.

Under new technical Advisor Robert Dover, Canada is pushing hard to put a solid team in place for WEG, and the addition of this horse with one of Canada's most experienced riders is an important development.

“I am very excited that Christilot has found and procured a new horse on which to try out for the World Equestrian Games. Nobody has more experience in the biggest arenas than she, and I will do everything that I can to support her efforts, just as I continue to do for all the other WEG declared riders. I wish Christilot and all of our athletes the very best of luck!” said Dover.

For her part, Boylen is very much looking forward to this new challenge. "Although the time is very short I will do my best to grow together with this fabulous horse over the spring and summer. I want to thank particularly Ulli and Bianca Kasselmann for giving me this opportunity, and of course my "Group" for their tremendous support.”

“I will start FAMOUS BOY as soon as possible. First in a few national competitions and if things are progressing well we will try München CDI in May.”

Very exsciting news - I gather Christilot will be staying in Germany to ride and train him?
I would imagine so, as a number of Canadians are flying to Europe to train this spring and summer.
