Edwina Alexander beat Kevin Staut, Jessica Kurten, Marcus Ehning and Marco Kutscher, who had all gone clear in the first round, in a thrilling jump off for today's Grand Prix de Ville de Cannes.
Last to go in the jump off, she knew she only had to go clear to win as all the others had faulted. Pint sized Cevo Itot du Chateau, who has a heart bigger than himself, never looked like touching a pole which was just as well because Edwina's risky decision to go for a slow clear would have been costly if he had.
Both Kevin Staut and Jessica Kurten had tried to steal victory by making the most of the long gallop to the last fence, but both paid for their audacity when the rail fell. Full details of the class can be found on the Global Champions Tour results page.
Fourth and fifth placed Marco Kutscher and Marcus Ehning are still leading the GCT standings as the Road to Rio moves to it's fifth leg in Monaco.
