A local resident discovered a larger number of horse heads at a untended dump near the town of Stand Off located in a Blood Tribal Reserve in southern Alberta.

Tribal police are investigating as the remains, which had been improperly discarded, had been disturbed by dogs which could pose a health threat to the community.  

They will also determine if there was any abuse involved in the treatment of the animals according to media reports.
