Originally reported on BBC Scotland, the Horseboy phenomenon is picking up steam!
The story reported a sighting of Horseboy - a man wearing a horse-head mask dressed in a purple shirt and black pants - on a Google street view photo for Hardgate, Aberdeen, Scotland.
Here he is in wide view. The horse-head does not jump out at you in this view.
This isn't the only unusual sighting made on the Google street view pages. Reportedly they have captured van fires, crimes in progress, and other oddities of daily life.
A close view - 'hmmm, maybe there is something interesting here.'
However, Horseboy is a cultural icon of sorts - even if only for a brief fling with fame. MSNBC reports that the BBC story has received more than 800,000 hits and that sales of horse-head masks have skyrocketed.
Here he is in a close-up view. Obviously he is a chestnut with a wide blaze, 15'2 to 16 hands, and he looks to be a bit spooky - the whites of his eyes are showing. If any of you Barnmice members recognize him and know what stables he belongs in, be sure to let us know!
Meanwhile, no-one knows who Horseboy really is, or if they do, they aren't telling. Horseboy sightings have multiplied dramatically - he's been spotted in swimming pools, on holiday in Germany, and even in the supermarket!
Inquiring minds want to know: Where will he appear next!
