The Franciscan Poor Clare Sisters have raised miniature horses at their monastery in Texas for twenty years. As the population of sisters has aged and their numbers diminished, the time has come for them to leave their current home and business near Brentham.

There are only three sisters currently living at the monastery where there was once a community of twenty nuns. Two of the three are well into their eighties, and the youngest member, in her fifties, runs the horse farm, tourist attraction, and craft shop with the help of family members and volunteers.

The miniature horses have been a major draw for tourists, known around the world.  The herd which numbers around sixty is offered for sale with the property or individually with prices ranging from $500 to $1500.

The nuns will remain as a community and will pursue both new enterprises as well as recruiting new members.  The over ninety acre farm with many buildings and amenities is being offered for $2 million with the horses, and at $1.75 million without.
