Ottawa, ON — Jaimie Holland of Caledon, ON, has been named the Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of the Month for August.
At the 2010 North American Junior and Young Rider Championships, held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY July 28 – August 1, Holland, and her 12-year-old Westphalian mare, Fleurina, won Young Rider Freestyle class with a personal best score of 72.700%. They also earned 68.211% for the bronze medal in the Individual test, and were members of Ontario Young Riders Dressage Team that won the Team silver medal, scoring 67.263%.
“The Junior and Young Rider North American Championships this year for Fleurina and I were nine days of some of the most incredible rides and experiences I’ve ever had. I have never sat on a horse that felt as focused as she did that whole week of competition,” said Holland, 21. “She gave me another level in the ring and I couldn’t have asked for more in a competitor and partner.”

Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of the Month is a recognition program that celebrates the achievements of Canadian dressage riders who represent Canada in national and international competition at the FEI Pony, Children, Junior, Young Rider, Advanced, Grand Prix and Young Horses classes.
