Olympian Megan Jones and Kirby Park Irish Jester withdrawn from WEG - Peter Atkins to Ride

2008 Olympic Team medallist Megan Jones and Kirby Park Irish Jester have withdrawn from the Australian eventing team for WEG after Jester became ill during the long transport from Australia.

According to the Australian Equestrian Federation, "while Jester has recovered well in the last 24 hours, for him to make the next leg of the journey from Los Angeles to Lexington and then compete 4* would be an unacceptable risk for the horse.

Megan and Jester will be replaced by US-based rider Peter Atkins and his horse Henry Jota Hampton who had been on standby should an unfortunate scenario such as this occur."

Peter is a Barnmice member and has kindly been sharing his helmet cam rides with us aboard "Henny". We wish him great success at WEG!

Megan is also a Barnmice member and we wish Jester the very best for a speedy and full recovery. Megan is scheduled to be at WEG cheering on her team-mates.
