Three-time British Olympic showjumper Tim Grubb has died of congestive heart failure. He was 55.
Tim was originally from Leicestershire, England. He was a member of the British Olympic Team when they won the silver medal at the 1980 Rotterdam Alternate Olympics, and again when they won silver at Los Angeles in 1984. Tim also rode on the British Olympic Team in the Barcelona Olympics in 1992.
Later, Tim became an American citizen and rode on the American team at the 1994 World Equestrian Games.
During his career, Tim won some of the most important show jumping championship in the U.S. In 1993, he was AGA Rider of the Year with five major grand prix wins with his mount Denizen. In 1996, Tim won the USET Show Jumping Championship aboard Denizen.
