Top US Eventer, Colin Davidson, was critically injured last night when his pickup truck hit a tree head on, then rolled down an embankment. He was traveling northbound on Route 20 to his residence north of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Rescuers at the scene pulled him from the wreckage and he was taken to the medical center at UVA. He was on life support until recipients could be found for organ donations.
He had ridden his horse Draco during the last couple of years in events up and down the east coast. He achieved good placings at Jersey Fresh (5/2010 - 3rd), Poplar Place Farm March HT (3/2010 - 1st), and was 4th at Maui Jim (Ill) in 2009 and 1st there in 2008. He also had placings on other horses, including Ru II, Crackerjack, and Firefly.
In 2010, he had been included on the Developing Rider List and competed at Rolex on Draco.
