I know many people have their own concoction for a homemade bug spray.
Anyone want to share what works best for them....

I have always found citronella and tea tree oil to work for my horses here in northwest B.C. Canada. I mix it in a spray bottle with 15% oil the rest water and shake really good. I also make up a cream using aloe vera cream and 1/2 bottle of citronella or tea tree to put on the horses insect wounds, it helps heal and keep the insects away.
Hi Cindy.
I have a new bottle of citronella spray (already mixed/not straight citro oil) so would you just add some tea tree oil to this . If so, how much tea tree oil to a quart of citronella spray? I used to mix Avons Skin So Soft Bath Oil with water and then mix half and half with an insecticide spray but if I can find a formula that's more natural that would be wonderful!!!! I also bought some dried garlic flakes that I was thinking about making a sachet pouch with and attaching it to the saddle since bugs are suppose to hate that smell.
