Since the fire in 2003, that burned a dozen or so of the trestles, decking and railings have been aded to the new ones in the Myra Canyon section. Does any one know if any of the other trestles east of Kelowna are decked? The two editions of the book on it both reference the pre-fire trestles and were written in terms of hiking and cycling. Obee's book on the TransCanada trail (which includes the KVR) doesn't mention it as he is a cyclist, so I guess he just picks his way over any trestles that have spaces between the beams. Not possible with a horse! Look down, look way, way down...

Not a clue, but very good question. I think I know someone I can ask that may have the answer though.
Thanks, Lexi, I'll be intererested to hear what your source says. I have now read "Okanagan Trips and Trails" and I understand there is the bypass trail which skirts uphill of about a dozen of the Myra Canyon trestles.

I may be able to take time off next summer for a major trail ride. It might include a chunk of the KVR, but that depends on decking on trestles, feed along the route and other factors. I have even dug out my ancient mountain bike to use on a few sections of the KVR this autumn to check out the terrain and what little water there will be available.
