YOUR HORSE COULD BE A GREETING CARD SUPERSTAR!

Your horse could have what it takes to become the international star of a brand new Jude Too greeting card.

Hi everyone, I'm Lesley Bruce the artist behind Jude Too. All of my cards are based on real-life events, and this fall I am inviting riders everywhere to send me their most unforgettable horsey moments to be created into a brand new greeting card based on the antics of a new equine superstar and their "person".

On October 31, I will select one horse and rider to capture their story in an original picture and share it with the whole world as the newest addition to the international Jude Too series.

What happened to you and your horse today…last month...last year? What made you laugh…love...cry...scream just because you have a horse? Your story can be funny, silly moving - even embarrassing, but most of all fun.

To enter, post your story on our group Comment Wall along with a small photo of you and your horse. Your story can be as short as one paragraph!

For examples of current Jude Too cards visit the Jude Too collection. I look forward to reading your stories!!

Well competiton is finished, but I'll keep going anyway...

This story is about my 6yo little girls first day out with the hunt - she went hound exercising

She missed out on the childrens intro meet a few weeks ago becuase of the weather, so when I saw that this weekend was set to be good, and Salad seemed to be over his big knee (which he got for pony bothering in the field) I told madam that if she behaved, I'd take her.

Called them up to double check that it was a steady day suitable for a lead rein on a shettie (she's been off the lead for most of the summer, rallies hacks etc, but a hunt meet is rather more exciting for small strong ponies so she was going back on lead for now). Was reassured that it was a steady day and definitely on.

HerRoyalHighness was bouncing about the night before, her clothes all pristine, pony sparkling from her bath (I'm not telling you how many baths it took) and tack all sorted. She couldn't get to sleep she was so excited. Got up in the morning with bags under her eyes, and was in getting her own cereal before my eyes were open!

Pony was reasonably clean in the morning, just a tidy up when we got to the yard, then she led her round to the lorry with Pat and Maddie, and Salad and I. They were so cute, little back straight, walking out with small puffball shettie all proud of herself.

To the meet, got HRH's tack checked, slung her on, and got on Salad, who is having his first outing for a few weeks, and came of the box doing his best 'okay, I am now arrived, you can start'.

They 'were' just about to set off as we mounted, so we made our way to the front of a beautiful stately home type place with lawns, and swans/lake etc (Staunton Harold) HRH graciously greeted everyone, obviously convinced that the rather large number of foot followers had arrived especially to see her as we joined the other 90 or so of the field. She gladly posed for photos, looking rather strange as she'd just lost a front tooth and the other front was at a funny angle ready to come out - couple that with the spongbob squarepants body protector and she was quite a sight....

Horns blew, hounds sang, and we went off up the field then through a narrow gate. Bit of a kerfuffle, we were at the back, and as horses went through the gate, they took off in canter, Puffball shetland was keen so went through the gate before Salad and shot off with a proper racing start, Salad, now happy about his babysitter status decides to strut his stuff for some watching followers "Do you think I'm sexy" he says, fluttering his eyelashes briefly hesitating and before I knew it, pony had got to the end of the lead rope and executed a perfect 180. HRH did a superb impression of a small human bullet as she continued at 35mph alone along Coco's original course - oops! only just barely out the gate and I lost the kid. (I'm a bad mother, what can I say...!)

Anyway, she bounced rather well (she'd been warned in the lorry that out hunting, if you fall off, unless you are ACTUALLY DEAD, then you have to get straight back on your feet), got back on quickly with the help of the kind foot followers and we trotted/cantered after the field.

Puffball shetland lost her freshness after about 5 mins and settled beside Salad beautifully, Salad of course saw this as a personal challenge and thinking he was on a winner, lengthened his stride "Am planning to leave short legs behind, then maybe I do some galloping" Puffball (who's from Essex) replied "Awwright mate, I'll giv yer a run" and sudddenly shettie is FLYING little short legs doing the biggest extended trot a shettie ever did!!! She actually kept up with him - much to his disgust! Cantered a few stretches, caught up with the field, and she did some superb downhill cantering across one undulating field, kid looking up at me and grinning, all no teeth, but full of joy, she really relaxed and just went with it - despite the fall.

I'm proud of all of them I am:-)

My Quarter Horse cross, Frank, is quite a character.

At shows, he enjoys lounging under the canopy we put up for the riders to keep out of the sun. After finishing his classes in style, he can be found in the shade under the canopy with everyone. He also will help himself to the water at the bottom of the cooler (melted ice). He will push all the water bottles and gatorades to the side (sometimes they land out of the cooler) to get to the water at the bottom when he decides he's thirsty - even though a pail of water from the hose is always somewhere within reach.

Arrgh!! .... it's Oct 31st. here in France ... deadline time coming up .... to take into consideration times zone differences. there is one more day.

Hi Olivia Cullimore.

Just love your photo of you and Socks, you've even snapped him mid lick.

You are sooooo lucky to have a pony but Socks is even luckier to have been rescued by you. Good for you that you were pacient so long and gained his trust. That isn't as easy as people think and your Mum must be very fit with all that bike riding.

Galloping off with flying sitrrups ... mints ... sudden cat leaps. Love it.

Thanks very much for posting your story.
Cheers

Hi Eddie Urbasik.

Your story gives me a really, really warm glow, it's fantastic what the "LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society," and others do.

The "Sigh" I've experienced that and there's no mistaking it. Please keep us informed of how you get on and thank you so much for telling your story.

Cheers
