It's time to go through all of your digital photos and pick out your favourite to see if it is front cover material! The OEF is running its Annual Photo Contest and we are looking for special photographs that gracefully capture ‘the horse’ in each of the four seasons (winter, spring, summer and fall) to be used as OEF publication cover photos.

The best photo from each season will receive a prize and will grace a cover of WHOA! while the grand prize photo will be used as the cover photo of the 2011 Ontario Horse Directory and the 2011 OEF Membership card.

Please keep in mind that the seasonal photo submissions should not be discipline specific (no tack or riders). In addition to the seasonal horse photos, we are always looking for action and riding shots for various promotional materials. The photos submitted that best represent the different disciplines will each be awarded a prize as well. Please remember that safety comes first - if you capture riders/drivers, they must be wearing safety helmets and proper footwear.

All photos must be original prints or digital photos in jpeg format minimum 600 dpi. All photos
submitted become property of the Ontario Equestrian Federation and will not be returned. Photo credit will be given. All runnersup will be used throughout various OEF publications and promotional materials.

Please submit photos before February 12, 2010 to market2@horse.on.ca or by mail to:

Ontario Equestrian Federation • 9120 Leslie Street, Suite 203 • Richmond Hill , ON L4B 3J9
Attn: OEF Photo Contest

**Please feel free to share your photos here in the OEF Group too!**

I'm entering this! I already have the pictures picked out :)
That's great Jenna! I can't wait to see your submissions!
'if you capture riders/drivers, they must be wearing safety helmets and proper footwear' for action and riding shots.

Would you please clarify for me as a western rider, who's proper head gear is not a helmet when showing my horses?
Do you not want photos then of western horses being shown? Only during training or riding at home where we use safety helmets?

Thanks in advance.
Susan
Hi Susan,

I understand that western show attire does not traditionally include a helmet. However, the OEF is a strong supporter of helmet safety and we do prefer to use photos that show riders wearing helmets. We welcome any photos and all are considered.
