I haven't seen the new levels DVD's that have just come out but I hear they're a great addition to the patterns DVD's. It would be nice to have them compliment the levels pathway lists because some of those tasks need more explanation. Either way, to buy or not to buy, that is the question?

I have only seen brief segments of it so can't speak about it as a whole. From what I understand, Pat himself is the one actually conducting the programs which I'm very happy to see. I asked my Parelli instructor the other day which of the newer packages she would suggest to add to what I have and she suggested "Pathways". But added that she could teach me the patterns without buying the package. I don't know if she'd have suggested patterns over Pathways if I she wasn't giving me lessons. But at the same time if I pay for a lesson for each pattern I'd probably be further ahead to buy the package and be able to view over and over. But it is nice to have someone there advising you as they observe the situation. I had gotten pretty unclear where I needed to be clear for my horse.
I have: Level 1, Level 2, Old Level 2~ (which I'd heard had more direction on using the carrot stick while riding that I kept seeing others do but but couldn't find training for in the newer levels packages) . and the Liberty and Horse Behavior package. The Savvy Club DVD's have alot of good direction too.
Always good to find another Parelli fan! I hope I will hear more from you. Love to hear and tell horse stories and experiences. Hope you'll share!
Thank you for the info Shirley. There's just so much offered within Parelli it's kinda like being a kid in a candy store. It's good to hear that Pat has more of a participation in the teaching, I really love Linda's input but I've missed Pat. I also have the old levels packages which I still use, which is why I'm a bit hesitant, I don't want to re-purchase something I already have. Yes, the Savvy Club DVD's are good, I look forward to those each month. You'll probably get sick of me :) I'm full of questions, I have plenty of stories & experiences and it is good to find like-minded people to share those with.
Did you notice that the new levels is on sale to the Savvy Club Members for $259. till Jan.17?
NO, I did not notice that......that's just too good to pass up :) Thank you for the info.
Hi Horsin Around! How are things going with you? I'm glad to accept the challenge of getting sick of you. Highly unlikely! I love exchanging horsey stories!
I've been missing Pat also. He and Linda are good together in the aspect that they do kinda round each other out but recently there has been ALOT of Linda in the things I've seen. I suspect some people learn better from one then the other so the varied personalities cover most the bases. We are fortunate to have two very good teachers and now some of their students are becoming fabulous teachers too. I love seeing the organization grow and the new personalities enter with their unique dreams and goals. It's inspiring to do it "our way" but sticking to the basics. I'm looking forward to good times ahead.
Remember to 'BELLY BREATH' and 'Look where u r going'...ahead with soft eyes.
I'm ready for a good horsey story!
I am not sure why more people don't share there materials. I love Parelli. I am currently a level one student but I just can' t keep up to the money end. You know sometimes there is more month than money! hahaha

Anyway I have the level one dvds and want MORE! Buy the time I scrimp and scrape the money for level 2 now they have changed everything.

To second your question to buy or not to buy but also what to buy. I want the best bang for my buck!
I think part of the problem that causes people to not share their material is that they cost enough no one wants to chance not getting them back if they lend them out.
I've lent some of my stuff to a few different people and I usually end up feeling crabby cause I have to 'ask' for the materials back which I find uncomfortable. I personally don't want to randomly lend parts out cause it's too easy to loose track of things and it's too easy to end up missing parts of your kits. I have lend parts to a couple different people and the plan was when they were done with one DVD to return it and I'd give them the next DVD. In both cases plenty of time would pass and they weren't using the program so I'd ask for them back before they'd get misplaced and I was afraid I'd never get them back. If I ever decided to sell the program, It wouldn't be worth much with part of the DVDs and booklets gone. I have a new trainer now that is interested in viewing the Parelli stuff.& I plan on lending her some. She seems very reliable but so did the other two.
I've had good luck buying used things over the Internet, especially EBay. Sometimes I see new Parelli packages for reduced rates. It appears some people get excited at the demonstrations, buy the kits etc. and then never take the time to use them.
If you are a Savvy Club member you will sometimes find things at a good price in their ads page under the forums or chats.
How are things going for you now? What is your newest 'oh-boy' moments?. Cash and I have been doing allot of different patterns recently. He is a LBI. He bores easily and when he gets bored he starts making his own fun and when he's not totally 'on' me he tends to spook more easily in the indoor arena. Yesterday was terribly windy while I was taking a lesson. We had a good spook, I stayed on but I got tense and again then he didn't want to work for me. He'd go but kept dragging his feet. No fun!! Normally I wouldn't try to ride in that kind of wind, it's just not fun. But the trainer said it's good once in a while to go ahead and face the challenge so we build confidence to know we CAN handle things if it becomes an issue when you can't avoid it....a storm comes up suddenly when u r on a trail ride. I think that's true. But don't do it so long that you hurt your confidence. Do you agree with that idea?
What was your last good horsey experience?
Enjoy Horsin Around, Shirley
You have an excellent point! I would be devestated if someone lost of wreked my stuff. I guess I never think of it that way cause if someone lends me something I take care of it.

I once borrowed books from a friend. I had a two yr old toddler at the time and was terrified something would happen to them so I would leave them in a bag in my dresser and only take them out when he was in bed.. haha

Anyway if anyone has anything Parelli for sale "on the cheap" I would be interested...
You might want to check Craigs List too.
I think there is a 'wanted' list too. I am sure there are sets sitting around in peoples homes not being used. Many that are being used too....hopefully more are being used then are sitting around not helping any horses.
