What is the most important thing you learned, that you didn't know before you started? How long have you been studying Parelli?

I suppose the most important thing I learned was how to read a horse and communicate like one...it helped me to gain the trust of one horse in particular, a semi-wild stallion who was almost 5 yrs old and hadnt been handled much since he was a weanling. He litterally adoped me and treated me like a herd member...watching over me while I pretended to sleep, defending me against other horses he thought were trying to harm me...etc. The transformation from the beginning of our relationship to one year later was amazing. I continue to learn and grow with my other horses with the levels program and can't wait to get to the level 4 stuff!
