We will hopefully be having 6 foals this Spring. The 1st - Ramiro/Quidam de Revel in April; the 2nd - Judgement/Voltaire/Lupicot in May; the 3rd Judgement/Chin Chin in June; the 4th Oxford/Consul in July; and the 5th Rio Grande/Landfriese II and 6th Steeplechase Thoroughbred/Landfriese II in August. I would love for you to see our website at www.euroequestriansales.com

Who is expecting foals in 2009 and what are the crosses?

We are expecting 2 foals.

Shades of Spring+, our Jumper Pony mare is bred to Rocko's Gold (Section B Welsh stallion in California that Jumps Level 2 against the horses and now is doing Dressage and Eventing) for her 3 foal. We've been so impressed with the first 2 Kolonel Mustard and Gold Braid, that we just had to try for that filly. Sport pony supremes!

Also my Hackney Horse mare, Clovercroft Lucky Jenny, is bred to *Rhoson Pasiant, Section B Welsh stallion imported from England. This is to replace the foal I lost when MG Inkhredible Fire died suddenly in 2007 while in foal to *Rosedale Top Cat (British Riding Pony/ASPR). Top Cat would have given us a fabulous animal but it would have gone horse, so I switched stallions and am looking forward to a fancy stepping driving machine!

I'm breeding quality Sport Ponies and we face the same issues as the breeders of quality Olympic discipline horses do.

As an option for those who don't like being too far off the ground to work with or ride their equines, sport ponies is becoming a growing market.

What are you finding works for a) the domestic market, b) the continental (North America) and c) the international market (rest of the wide world)?

We've done the best with the breeding, culling those individuals that don't meet our criteria, done the "right" registrations, gone to the inspections, hit most of the in-hand shows and only now are the youngsters old enough to start proving themselves as performance animals.

How do we make ourselves (Canada and small, private barns) marketable and desirable?

I'm adding some short videos of the inspection we held October 14, 2008 and footage of mares and foals through a chute ... tiny cross poles. I hope you will visit and check it out.

Finally got my Ole Dial-up to co-operate long enough to view the Quality Horse Breeders Section.........Good to hear from you!
Would certainly enjoy sharing views etc., with like minded Breeders, on marketing towards the Olympic Disiplines with our Canadian Bred Equines.
