Saddle Seat also known as English Pleasure, is a historical way of riding with traditional training being very similar to Classical Dressage.
Saddle Seat can be ridden on any horse and rider combination at the lower levels and we actually encourage that the younger riders experience riding various horses at the beginning of there learning experience.
However at the higher levels of competition horses that have the ability to hold a high level of collection and engagement of the hindquarter with large movement are preferred. The most common breeds are the American Saddlebred, Morgan Horse, Arabian Horse and Friesian.
U have only just started riding it and I am enjoying it! To get the real experience I recommend riding a horse with LOTS of motion to really feel what it is like :)
