Does anyone know for sure which of the top riders are going?

The 2004 The FEI has published the updated list of National Federations qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong. A total of 42 countries have qualified, either with team or individual, to participate in the 2008 Olympic Games. National Federations have until 30 May to confirm their participation.

Qualified for dressage are:

Teams
10 NOCs are qualified directly to take part with a team consisting of a maximum of 3 riders and 3 horses as follows:

* Australia
* Brazil
* Canada
* Great Britain
* Germany
* Japan
* The Netherlands
* Switzerland
* Sweden
* USA
* In addition: «Composite» qualified teams: 3 individuals qualified from the same nation from the Olympic rankings to make up a team.
o Denmark (composite team)
o Spain (composite team)

Individual
The following qualification places for Individuals may only be allocated to NOCs which have not qualified teams “directly”. 1 individual per NOC per regional group and fill up of quota. Each qualification place will be for 1 rider and 1 horse.

* Belgium – 1
* Belarus – 1
* China – 1
* Finland – 1
* France – 2
* Italy – 1
* Korea – 1
* Mexico – 1
* South Africa – 1
* Russia – 1
