Hi there, Eurodressage members!
Does anyone know if there is an FEI rule regarding horses being shod for Dressage competition up to & including CDI's?
Thanks

As far as I know, horses can be shown barefoot. Emma Hindle (British Olympic rider) is known to train and compete her horses barefoot. Only when the footing is not so good and when the show grounds have lots of concrete, she'll shoe her horses. She told me she keeps them barefoot in winters and usually has them shod in summers because of the shows.

Diamond Hit and Wie Weltmeyer perform better barefoot she said.

Thanks for your reply, Astrid.
Is it often the case that the footing is not so good in Europe these days?
