Hi, Karin Offield here.
I am looking for horse enthusiasts that love to write, that are great communicators, and that share the same passion I do for horses, breeding and my favorite horse Lingh. I am hoping that by sponsoring a writing contest we can involve horse lovers from around the world in a wonderful discussion about passion and dreams of horse ownership and the anticipation of what it means in breeding a champion or breeding your mare who you have grown up with ! Perhaps the grandparents will have a special story that you can submit to us!
Lingh is in Sweden now but the contest is open to everyone! The prize ( a free breeding to Lingh) is transferable, so it could be a great gift to a friend, a family member, your stable owner or your trainer ! if you love to write and love horses, I hope you will enter the contest.

Hi Karin! I am a writer and I own a 'gelding!' so as much as I would love to enter your contest I'm afraid it would be for nought. I wish I could enter, but I don't even know anyone looking to breed a mare right now. :-( I hope you get a lot of interest. Sounds like a great opportunity for someone.
Am happy to discuss writing any day. Am working on two novels and just came second in a writing contest in an internationally circulated British heritage magazine. My prize: a two-night stay in a resort on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. :-)
Perhaps we could consider setting up a proper forum for writers on this site, and challenge each other to write a 500 word essay on a topic every couple of weeks that we would share with the group and get feedback on. What do you think? -

hi, This sounds like a good idea...maybe i could post one of my favorite stories...these are all 1000 words...how about a poem...Poems are great too...what do you think ? k

Poems ... stories ... the sky's the limit! I only thought to keep things shorter so that people would actually read them. But I think it would be fun to have a challenge subject every couple of weeks or so for those who are interested in expanding their skills and having some fun.
Would you like to start the group, or shall I?
We could call it "Riding Writers" or something like that.

give me a day to think....I think it would be cool if Lingh was the group starter....lets think poems.... its more of a intellectual push with rhythm and rhyme - is it possible to set Lingh up as a __________? I think they need to be short. 300 or less perhaps...

Lingh is your horse, yes? If so, yes you can set him up on his own page. You just need another email address. I set my horse Bear up under Gmail. FYI -- Bear's registered name is Shakespeare so I'm sure he'll have a thing or two to contribute. He's quite prolific!! ;-)
