They got second place, my friend's son got first, his pony was an elephant he was the genie from Aladdin. Their costume was pretty good as well. We had a lot of fun with it. We had a great summer. Joules was, as usual, a superstar this year. While she can be a bit naughty at home sometimes, she is always on her best behaviour at shows, which is fine by me. Hope all is well with you.
I've loaded photos of Alicia and Dawn from the shows this summer on my albums for you to view. We placed second in the costume class this year at Rockton Fair, a first in jumping, 4th in walk trot. Hope you enjoy them.
Yes it was very neat to have my photo chosen and a surprise too when I saw it LOL
Cooper was fantastic trotting, he listened very well. I haven't been on him since that time though, lots of time. I have really been hating the heat and just not feeling well this summer at all, again!!
How's things coming at the farm? It's really shaping up and looking fantastic!
He is Wind Dancer Captain Morgan by Stockham Commander M out of Morton's Catarina. He is 13hh.

I hear you on some Clydes being a tad bit sensitive, where I work has one that is nervous around men and his face but a real doll at 19hh and still growing.
You are so right that there is a need for good quality ponies for every discipline and I include pleasure/backyard ponies as a discipline. We've dabbled in ponies off and on over the years and about 6 years ago got back in semi-seriously which is where I was hearing the need for an Open competition circuit as well as promotion to foster sales and breedings - hence the brainwave of starting PBO.
I also see by your photos that you are into the Clydes. I manage a farm that has Clydes and Percherons as well as a breeding/track-layup operation for Standardbreds. Must say I prefer Clydes as my favourite of the draft breeds and always have.
While you are no longer breeding ponies you sound like an enthusiast and would have good input into any pony promotion program. Personally until this year I did not breed ponies - my mom has and is but I was not, so have no vested interest other than seeing a need. I now have a Half-Welsh weanling that hopefully will stay pony sized.
