This is Che at 2. my bay 4 year old stb, stallion, Why is he special?
I waited for 10 years to have a horse again, and when we found Che I knew that he was all that I could have ever hoped for, a horse of lifetime. If I had to do it all again, even though I know he has not made the races, even though I know he got sick, and might never turn out to be the champion stb horse we hoped for I would. He is much more than this, he is arrogant, but kind, he is the king of horses, but cares, he is rough, but gentle, soft but with a side that is iron and could kill, he answers to no one but himself, yet he heeds us and loves us. We are his family, his trust and love hard fought, but oh so worth the wait and work. He is tallented beyond all messure, and smart, fast and funny, with a sense of humour that most comediens would kill for, sage, and willful, he commands and gets what he wants. He lives to please, but wants us to please him in turn... we bribe him to get him from the stall, we pay him in black licorice, we use the whip to chase flies becuase he likes it, he is like quick silver to ride, and smooth as silk, he will stand on the track and wait for you to fix anything that is broke, he throws tempertantrums if he doesn't get his way, but will wait for you to help him if he is need even if he does get his shoe stuck in the fence on occassion... he nibbles, and he bites, he kicks and he makes us curse, and laugh, and cry sometimes... when he hurts we hurt, when he triumphs we are proud... he is all of this and we love him each and everyday.
Thanks Che (Tiocfaidh Ar La-- Our Day Will Come)
