Thanks! We did good the day these were taken. Yesterday we had a lesson and I was a bundle of nerves, there was lots of little distractions going on but in all honestly they were bothering me more then him. I was just waiting for something to go bad. We worked thru it and we were outdoors. We just got outside and I was on him and something startled him which freaked me. I almost got off but changed my mind and stayed on. Kathy had to lead us down to the arena but I didn't give in to those nasty unrealistic fears. The instructor said I should feel good about it cause even though I was scared I did handle all the things he tried to do different then I'd asked. I was able to get him to do what I wanted him to do....like not eat grass and not keep going to the grass. Our outdoor arena is fenced in with a few feet of grass all the way around the sand so he can head for it anytime he thinks he can get away with it. BUT, he DID NOT get to eat the grass while we were riding. I took his bit off and loosened his girth and let him eat grass a while when the lesson was over and I sat in a lawn chair and just watched him eat. After about an hour I went back in, put the bit in his mouth, tightened the girth and got back on without anyone there babysitting me. It went very well and Cash did what I asked which was mostly moseying around on the sand and grass. All ended up feeling "Good" Whew!! So glad for that. Tonight the horses were all kinda uptight and flighty so I opted not to ride and freak myself out. It's good for us to just spend time together grooming and grazing....bonding time. Again he ended up relaxed after a while so it was calmly relaxing. Right now he looks like his tummy could burst but next week they are getting put back on the first cutting of hay which isn't near as yummy as the second cutting so he'll probably loose some of the baby fat.
