oh, we have some awesome trails here, by the looks of it, so do you! Had to see who I was talking to. :-)
I see you do treeless. I trail ride in a dressage saddle because my gelding is dificult to fit. I would love an endurance type saddle with D rings to tie things to. Everyone is always carrying my stuff for me. I have heard pro's and cons about the treeless saddles but I think if you have enough support between you and the horses spine, without pressure on the withers, it would be a good thing. Mai Tai (my horse) has prominent withers and is big over all. I would like something either with a high port or a cut-back. With a good chanel down the spine and plenty of padding so his back won't get sore. My other concern with treeless on such a tall horse, is getting on! When we leave our point of origin, I use a mounting block so I don't drag on his back but if we get off on the trail, I have to be able to get back on! Would love to hear your input on this.
