I think it is called a "herringbone" braid. Two sections and then keep pulling hair from outside of the sections. He is just beautiful...used to do this braid with my horse(until he rubbed out a 5" section of his mane). Now he sports a 'roach'. :-)

Thank you. It normally takes about 35 minutes to do that braid. First I split has mane in half so it is equal on both sides of his neck. Then french braid each side. At the end we tie both side of the mane together. It is really simple to do and because His mane is well taken care of it makes it that much easy to do.
