I wasn't planning on bathing him, I was just going to wash his tail and dock area for the bugs but then got carried away. Just the few days I have worked with him in the heat have me sweating so much and getting dizzy so I can see me not doing a whole lot when the real bad heat gets here. The bugs were bad when I took him outside after the bath. I just saw this bug band that goes on the nose band or brow band of the bridle or halter and it's supposed to keep bugs away for up to 4 weeks. http://www.bahrsaddlery.com/fly-armor-noseband-with-4-inserts.html Of course he will likely loose it the first day out in the gelding paddock but would like to try it at least or maybe just use it only when we work and ride.
Yes, Cash needs a bath too and since it's been over 80 already a few days that will happen soon. I will need relief from the heat more then he will. The mosquitoes have been horrible and have kept me out of the yard too much and they are even worse in the indoor which is disappointing for sure. Even if we use spray, they might not bite but they still swarm all around us. YUCK!
He is looking a little great! Still shedding out the winter coat and he needs a bath real bad :)
Came out of the winter looking pretty fine! Enjoy!
