I was prepared for flight
For too long were my needs ignored
So accustomed to my plight

One day you came to rescue me
I was afraid to trust
My instincts urged me to avoid
To protect me at all cost

Your words were soft
Your presence light
A balm to ease my fears
And now I know what love can be
My life changed in just one year”
