Well, you can imagine with Akhal-Teke, if I had invented this breed I should have called them something easier! The Russians called them Argamaks and in Europe they were called Turks or Turkmens. Actually one golden Akhal-Teke stallion called Turkmen Atti was used in the creation of the Trakhener breed.

Funny! :-D the horse in my pic is my 3/4 Trakehner, 1/4 Hanoverian gelding. I thought "Trakehner" was complicated for people! :-) Do you breed Akhal-Tekes?

Yes, this photo really captures the metallic sheen of some of the Akhal-Tekes. And yes, I wish I would have fallen in love with a breed with a less complicated name!

This one has a coat like an Akele-Tekke (not sure if I spelled that correctly, sorry) gorgeous!
