I am 44 years old and have been involved with horses most of my life. My very first horse was when I was 12 years old. I am currently in a barn with some wonderful people and we all share the same passion for dressage and anything thing that has to do with horses in general.
The picture I am sending you is of my own horse Formality (he is the black one in the picture) and my friends horse Diva...the love of his life. Formality is a registered thoroughbred race horse. I aquired him two years ago after some wonderful people rescued him from the slaughter house a couple of years before. He was badly beaten and starved. It took them 1 1/2
years of care to have him regain some of the weight he was so desparately in need of. Unfortunately these people were not able to afford his keep any longer and it was a blessing for him and I that I was able to take him over. I was not looking for another horse at the time let alone another thoroughbred. He had many behavioral issues due to his mistreatment and I had a six year old daughter ,and I had concerns with her safety. Never the less I said I would try him out. I sat on him with a great deal of apprehension not knowing what he would do. Nothing had been done with him for over 3 years...I stood on the mounting block and swung my leg over the saddle and waited for the blowup...there was none. He stood like a gentleman and turn his head around and gave me a look over. He was not without his issues. It took several months to have him get over just carrying a whip and not freaking out at any movement made toward him. The time that clinched it for me was when my daughter came to visit him for the first time and he dropped his head for a kiss on the nose.
Since then, that was two years ago, he has settle in to be one of the quietest horses around. He is as handsom as handsom can be and I am grateful we found eachother. I sent this picture because of the look of contentment he has on his face and it shows how much love he is cable of giving. I am so willing to give him the care and love that he needs for the rest of his life.
