Diane Ciarloni has not received any gifts yet
I have lived surrounded by the ever-changing world of horses for most of my adult life. Stories about my horses, as well as the other members of my at-home zoo, have appeared in the Chicken Soup for the Soul books and several anthologies published by Guideposts. In 1980, I was fortunate to have the only photos of a wild horse herd in Challis, Idaho; this same herd eventually became the center of the wild horse controversy as well as the resulting horse protection bill. They were also the topic of many articles that I wrote and sold.
I wrote stories on just about every performance discipline for newsstand equine publications for a number of years, before focusing the majority of my attention on racing Quarter horses. It's been a whirlwind experience that is still blowing.
I served as editor for Speedhorse magazine for more than 25-years and, before that, I wrote for a broad variety of magazines on many different topics; including architecture, fine arts, construction and agricultural publications. I have just recently launched some major restructuring in my life/career and am returning to an emphasis on freelance and/or contract work. For me, research is a joy and I'm comfortable writing about any subject....including avocados and ostriches!
