IrishRider replied to Barnmice Admin's discussion 'What are your Experiences with Communication with your Horse - Verbally, Telepathically, etc?'
I talk to my horse while I am grooming her. I ask her how her day was, tell her a little about mine, etc. I always thank her for lifting up her hooves when she is supposed to, or putting the bit in her mouth. It's just good manners. ;) When we…

IrishRider replied to Barnmice Team's discussion 'HOW DID YOU CHALLENGE YOURSELF THIS WEEK? ENTER THE ECOGOLD CHALLENGE! WEEK #4'
You know how people always tell you that you never truly appreciate your horse until you ride someone elses? I have decided to test that theory. My horse came up lame on Thursday. Poor girl will be ok but has to have a few weeks off, so I…

IrishRider replied to Timika F's discussion 'What is the worst jumping experience you've ever had?' in the group Jumping Rox!!
The worst experience I had was during one of my lessons. I was in a lesson with a girl who has a horse that is in love with my horse, and vice versa. It was the first time we had been in a lesson together. I bet money that the two of them decided in…

IrishRider replied to McGood's discussion 'Supplements'
I try to be a minimalist when it comes to these sort of things. However, my horse lost a bunch of weight after I bought her, she was super fat when I got her and so she slimmed down quite a bit once we started a regular routine. Well she lost too…

Beautiful work! How much do you usually charge to paint someone's horse for them, if you don't mind me asking.

A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
I live in New Mexico. I have been riding for close to four years (I rode when I was little and took a long break). I have been doing hunters for a year and this year will be my first year of showing. I have an 11 year old Hanoverian mare that I dearly love. She has given me back the confidence that I was lacking after my first horse, which was not a good match for me. We have been a team for about a year now and we have started to mesh really well.
Do you have any pets?
