Jo commented on Wiola Grabowska's blog post 'Where do I go from here?'
Hi Wiola, Kingsley might be picking up on your anxiety/sadness? Re your location - why are you in London - is this due to your partner? Can't he relocate? What about a bit of self-interest/self-promotion? YOU CAN DO THIS! Be careful what you…

No, it is NOT acceptable. These training methods are as much about manipulating the horse psychologically as physically - in fact more so. The fixed, forced (these horses are not adopting these positions voluntarily) positions impede movement…

I LOVE THIS BLOG!. I know it sounds corny but I have the scales of training handwritten pinned to my kitchen wall - I added my own quite a while ago - "First of all, love your horse" and adorned it with hearts and arrows! I do love my…

There is no secret so close as that between a horse and his rider This says so much - in just a few words it encompasses, perhaps, a lifetime together.

A Smooth Little Horse Colt Should Move a Man as Much as does a Son. Anonymous - but isn't it lovely?

The changing diagonal whilst "out" of the saddle, rather than "in" - you recommended it in a previous blog - is a revelation and gives, if not instant results, instant insights and self-awareness. I think the horses appreciate a…

Jo commented on William Micklem's blog post 'Best of William Micklem - 6 - THE YOUNG WILL JUDGE THE OLD'
Fascinating - even today, there seems to be the impression that if you are not suffering, you are not improving. Riding without stirrups is, in many cases, beneficial but, as you say, William, if you are gripping to maintain balance, much of the…

Hi Jo, Snow here today (but in a good way a dusting that looks pretty!). Like you I simply cannot sell any horses either I keep making up excuses that justify why it is not a good tim to sell!! Went to the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Expo at Goffs on Friday. We have loads of interesting info and it was a great day out. Some interesting seminars and plenty of tack and equipment to drool at. just started the sayings thing in a rare idle moment but it would be great to hear different sayings from around the world. How are you doing? Let me know about your horses. Catch you later

good morning from the USA to UK Jo. Thanks for your comment. I cannot scan photos, I just plugged in my camera, and poof, they appear! I own five of the six horses on my site, not the young gray gelding in for training. But the big gray mare, CAli, is pregnant, bred to a young Dutch Stallion, Ampere, so that counts as a bit of an extra horse! They are a mixed bag, not one like the other, I guess that is why they are such good teachers. Each offers me different challenges. Have a great day. Martha

Hi Jo, thanks for getting in touch. Abdullah is the sire of a stallion I used called Chillout who is the only son standing in Europe I think. I will put up a pic of Chillout I am between two computers at the moment so stuff is everywhere. The bay in the field is Galoubet the famous french horse and the bay foal in the field is Summer his granddaughter so I have high hopes for her! Her sire is Castlelawn Galloway a Galoubet son and he is shown showjumping in one picture and his dad in another. I love to have a pictorial family tree of foals I have bred (because I am a horse geek) but it is also great to show people if you are selling (not that I often do). Stay in touch and we can be breeding horse geeks together
