My next goal is to ride down the lane to the next road and lead him via foot to a 'scarey' corner of the lane that goes around the pastures. There is several small goals to get thru so we can meet the larger goal of getting all the way around the pastures and thru small lane trail in the woods.. Our progress is slow and I keep wondering if I should hire someone to put some hours on him but I'd like to do what I can myself. Taking it a step (baby step) at a time. But our wings do keep spreading and things are feeling good. Once in a while I have to go a bit beyond my comfort zone but I'm a big believer (for me) to go on food a few times till that feels okay and then hop on his back. I am way over 50 but not yet 60 and I have been bucked off once and spilled once so I know it's not something I want to do again but I also learned that I do get back up and back on. I tell myself football players do this multiple times each game they play and they live to tell. Obviously I'm not a tough football player but I'm not a delicate flower either. I needed to realize that for riding and life in general..
I got my message all typed to you and it was too large for this system to send so I cut it in half not knowing if that would work but it looks like it's gonna!
