I am a high school English teacher at a public charter school for at-risk and formerly at-risk students. My horse is a 2004 American Thoroughbred named Lord Wimbledon (Win). He was started as a six year old because of a crooked leg at birth. His dam died six days later from complications, so he went to live with the brood mares. They were brought in one day for a hoof trim and he had somehow gotten caught and pulled about half of the hoof off of his (straight) front leg. It had already begun to heal, and he was never lame. After surgery and bisection, it's been steadily healing. Good, careful shoeing makes a world of difference!
We are currently schooling novice level eventing and pushing for first level dressage.
