David - loved your comment - I also notice my horse is getting wider - my leg just doesn't swing like it used to - damn hips!

We're waiting for a good snowfall to cover the trails so we can ride out. Right now we are in a freeze, thaw cycle that is making everything really slippery - so we're stuck indoors. However, at least there is that option! Now if we could just get s…

Does anyone have experience with the Circle Y Flex Lite western saddles? I've not been a big fan of Circle Y in the past but this is newer technology. My Billy Cook reiner no longer fits my horse. He's rather broad in the shoulders with a fairly hig…

Great comment Linda W. I have a young gelding who is not push button broke but he is quiet and sensible and I am learning a ton from him. I've never trained a young horse before - always ridden something broke to death. I can't tell you how much fun…

Ann - so sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a beloved horse. Just think - green grass, no fences.

Fleur loaded like a charm - first time is always the easiest! I guess she will be a pasture pony until she's two anyway. I hope he keeps me updated on her progress - I wonder if she will end up in Texas?

Got a lovely email from Patrick on the Sunday to say that she had arrived in St. Jacques, NB safe and sound. They really like… Continue

Welcome William!

Check out the photographs of my new pony, William. He is a 15.2 hand Dry Doc bred quarter horse gelding, five years old. I've had him for a month now and we are really getting to know one another. Thanks so much to Patrick Mulligan who raised and trained William and took the time to ride with me and teach me some of his buttons. I'm so glad Willy failed at roping!

I've had William for 3 months now and I just love him. Had t… Continue
