Funny in some spots (like when the pony lay down) but scary in others. Give the kid credit for sticking with it. As for the pony - I'd probably put a bit of lead in his left ear.

Shirley - I highly recommend Jane Savoi's freedom From Fear set. I know exactly how you feel. Jane uses a technique she calls approach and retreat - in other words go as far as you are comfortable and go back before you get tense. If that means walk…

That is so awesome. Congratulations on a great ride. Sometimes we forget to be grateful for the small successes. I have Jane's cd's and dvd's on Freedom from Fear and they are awesome. Worth every penny.

Little miss Fleur, my yearling filly, left for the New Brunswick farm of Patrick St. Onge today. Patrick is a well-known Canadian reiner, now based in Gainsville, Texas. Fleur loaded like a charm - first time is always the easiest! I guess she will be a pasture pony until she's two anyway. I hope he keeps me updated on her progress - I wonder if she will end up in Texas?

Got a lovely email from Patrick on the Sunday to say that she had arrived in St. Jacques, NB safe and sound. They really like… Continue

Welcome William!

Check out the photographs of my new pony, William. He is a 15.2 hand Dry Doc bred quarter horse gelding, five years old. I've had him for a month now and we are really getting to know one another. I've had William for 3 months now and I just love him. Had t… Continue

The late medieval nobility turned dressage into a sport by giving public demonstrations of "horse ballets" to wow the commoners during public celebrations. They would do airs above the ground as well as movements on the ground. The late medieval kni…

Where did I state that medival dressage was humane and correct? I have stipulated that the SRS under Podhajsky presented dressage more correctly. I know who Kottas is and he is not a horseman! Podhajsky was a horseman and even General Patton was a h…
