Reining Demonstration at the IPM

Gary and Jabanic have just returned from doing a reining demonstration with Harvey Stevens and Peptoleap at the International Plowing Match held in St. Thomas, Ontario.  They had an incredible turn out and really enjoyed the crowd.  Jabanic and Peptoleap were both in top form.  They will be returning to the IPM next year. If you are interested in having a reining demonstration at your event, please contact us.See More

In Flanders Fields

By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)

Canadian Army

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the… Continue

Hi Kerri,

Thanks for joining our Curly Group. I will be updating our group with some articles over the next few months. I know that you and Gary can appreciate the wonderful temperments of curlies after breaking out Gryphon for me! Thank you for making this exceptionally smart young gelding even more of a pleasure to work with! Cheers, Norma

I hear ya there. Even here, it became fall very suddenly. I like the cooler temps, but do not look forward to winter- it's supposed to be a brutal one this year!

Hi Kerri, thanks for accepting me as a friend! Your horses are beautiful, I wish I could have grown up with horses. You must be so happy to be able to have your children grow up with horses too! I am sure that if I had of gotten into horses many many years ago that it would have made me a better person, emotionally and physically. Just having my boy for the last 2 years has been amazing. People would tell me they could see how much he loved me, I was surprised and I just didn’t see it but I do now. Yesterday, I went to see him and it was too hot to work. So I sponged him down and took him out into the paddock to let him run around on his own. After a little running around I called him and he turned and looked at me. I moved my hands in the come to me fashion and he trotted over. I was a little nervous, he was moving pretty quickly towards me and he stopped right in front of me and sniffed me, it was fabulous!
He is helping to heal my spirit everyday!

Kerri, If you are renting a cabin, then you are probably not at the Big Southfork Campground or Bandy Stables. If you give me more info about where you are renting the cabin for sure, I can probably narrow it down to where you are and how close to trails etc or have stable or not...but really the cabin owners should be able to tell you what they have and how close they are to the actual trail...if they say you are only 15 minutes away, that could mean a truck drive 15 minutes away. You just have to ask all kinds of questions regarding what you really want. If I can help you in any way I will do so, but just have to have a little more information.

It takes me a good day to get to James Town. and I do not live all that far from the border. Yes I take my horses over to the States to ride quite often,. Also a word of caution..never take the route through Oneida to get to those campgrounds, it is very steep, and switchbacks that make you meet your trailer when making the turns, Still got the dents on my pickup box to prove that. been there and done that and don't want to ever do it again, and I am no wuss when it comes to driving, but that was sooooo "not the thing to do" take the long scenic route into Jamestown. If you feel that you want to make it a two day trip there are all sorts of wrangler camps to stop at in Ohio, not sure where you are starting out from.
