Good Morning Mandy -

Here is what your student will need to complete the English Learn to Ride program:

• Join the Ontario Equestrian Federation
• Purchase the English Rider Manual(s)
• You may also wish to purchase Stable Management in Canada
• Contact a current and Certified Equine Canada Instructor or Coach to begin training
• When the coach feels you are ready, they can administer the exam to you, some
exams require you to use a coach other than your regular coach
• The completed exam and payment is then submitted to the OEF office by the evaluator

You are correct, your level 2 is the equivalent of Rider Level 5. The jumping portion of the test is optional. However, the jumping is required if you are using the Rider Level tests as a prerequisite for Coach 1 certification.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Mandy, It's good to hear from you. I have been able to do some riding this spring since I board at a place with an indoor arena but I haven't been on the trails yet. How about you? What's it like in your neck of the "woods"?

Nice to meet you Mandy! Yup, dressage is pretty addicting isin't it? All throughout my childhood I thought it was stupid and boring until I actually gave it a shot, then I was hooked! Morgans are lovely horses. Back in my western pleasure days the horse I rode and showed was a morgan/arab.
