Margaret Langlands replied to Laurie J Blake's discussion 'Looking for coach/facility/trainer resources for the over 50 (60 & 70) rider' in the group Over 50 crowd
Hi - I don't know where you live - but I have found a good personal trainer who takes into account the age of her clients and doesn't push too hard. I just turned 60 and didn't like what I saw in the mirror - losing weight is very…

Just my two cents on feeling good - I do reflexology once a month - as soon as I hit the chair I am so relaxed and almost asleep! I love massage too but find this a "quicker fixer upper" when stiff or sore - a little more exercise or yoga…

Although the weather is fluctuating daily - we ride when we feel the footing is good in the forest and "play" with our horses inside when it is bad - lots of fun if you have an arena and others to play with - we do a lot of Parelli ground…

Hi Sherry- what a great idea - where do you get the band? Also a good suggestion by Rose - I have a whistle - where is it? In my locker of course!! Not much good there.

What a wonderful looking animal - I am so glad you saved him. Any idea if his gaits look funny - ie - nopt just a walk, trot, canter - could he be gaited? I have a National Spotted Saddlehorse who came from Kentucky - he looks like any other paint,…

Hi All - going back to the discussion on helmets and vests - I would like to relate something that happened in our group today when we were out riding. We came across a riderless horse - and it happened to be from our stable! After much frantic…

So sorry to hear of your loss, I also lost an equine friend many years ago and the pain never goes but the lovely memories also live on. This just came today from Equine Guelph - perhaps you might want to set up a memorial : Equine Guelph…

Yes, I saw that on your bio. the Siberians are supposed to be sort of hypo allergenic and the breeders will ship you a mixed bag of fur to wear around your neck to see if you react. I did that, no problem but when she got here of course I was…

I did that, no problem but when she got here of course I was allergic to her. Sweet as hell. Supposed to make around 25 lbs. She is 10 and around just over 2 feet long and will only eat raw elk and bison. What fun. She is just like a dog and will wrestle with one of them. Cheers! Gail.

Sounds like a good boarding sitiuation. Marianne has not had a good summer of it though. Hope something can be done for WS. I will be leaving mid Sept, and going to a barn that is on Hwy. 12 just north of Myrtle Rd. Big arena there and good care. He will be inside for the winter but he has done that more that 1/2 his life. I am interested in the Bike and Beast but wonder if I can just showup and pay my $20 if the weather is good? Fair weather rider and all. Do they provide an outhouse for that many people? Old bladder and all. Talk at you soon ! Gail.
