I have loved horses all my life,no longer own. A serious auto accident resulting with back injury brought that to a end, but still have a passion for horses

It took me five years to recover from my head-on collision. During those 5 years my back just hurt too much to ride.
What finally got me back in the saddle was 2 hours a day crawling around hand weeding my horses' grazing paddock. I did this for around two-three years. During that time I started riding just 30 minutes once a week at a walk mostly. Due to my MS (triggered by the same car wreck) I now ride other people's horses for 30 min. a time 3 days a week. I used to own horses, but my last one died years ago.
All may look hopeless now about riding horses. I've been there. Your injuries may be more serious than mine, so it may take you longer.
The horses are worth it. The horses understand my problems and adapt to what I can handle, even when they are being "bad".
