A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
I live in Sonoma County, about an hour north of San Francisco, California. We are in the heart of wine country and surrounded by dairy farms. My horse Lowen is American bred out of Wertherson and an Olderburg mare named Amelia that was an Advanced 3-Day horse and did tempis and pirouettes in a halter. I'm an active amaturer rider, that does more schooling than showing. It's just too hard and sadly too expensive with a full-time job and owning a home with property and two miniture donkeys that once belonged to Gerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead.
We are hoping to start schooling 3rd Level-the changes, once he's fully fit from a stifle and quadracep injury we healed...all winter. Thank goodness I live in CA, I ride at night and all of the rehab was done in the dark with a lighted baseball cap, walking up and down and around the ranch. My horse is Saint and takes good care of me.
I enjoy scribing at both local and CDI competitions and find this invaluable for learning and being exposed to the most talented and knowledgable in our sport. At the CDI level it also allows for a bit of fun with the international aspect the judges bring. My goal and dream is to some day get to Europe as a scribe.
Eurodressage is my lunchtime entertainment at work and I read it religiously! Happy to be a part of the Barn Mice community. We are anxiously awaiting the WEG in Kentucky 2010 and are so grateful to the internationally riders that have come to Las Vegas World Cup. I still get chills thinking about some of the wonderful horses and riders we saw!
Will include some pictures when I can.
