Welcome! Love the cantering story. You should post it as a discussion becuase I can tell you that we've ALL been there and lots of our members would have ideas to help you along your new journey. Congrat's for pushing through that fear - it is not easy!
I want to read on however its late here in CA and I'm very tired. More tomorrow! Happy riding!

A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
Hi, I'm a 21 year Registered Nurse currently loving being a stay at home Mom of a 6 year old who just one her first Blue Ribbon in a swim meet! Very exciting! My Etsy shop was created after a God wink moment whereby I sell birthstone bracelets that follow the Rosary pattern! I call them Rosary for the Wrist bracelets. On a BarnMice note: I'm living my childhood dream of horseback riding! I said to my very supportive husband how sad I am that I allowed my dream to completely leave me..all my life I was told, "no you can't to this and you can't do that" and my dream was gone! Thanks to my daughter, she and I have been riding for 6 months! I'm working on trotting circles! I lost it this week when the horse began to cantor and scared me to death! My fear of heights came rushing back, I almost began to cry. The desire to dismount was unbearable but I kept it in and kept on going! God Bless my trainer, she sensed what I was feeling and stepped right in. So, I'm blabbering...I LOVE HORSES! and am thrilled to be riding for the first time ever!
