In New jersey, we have freezing temperatures, icy roads and "macross Lace" type of patterns on the windows.

The homes are toasty. No one is out. The football matches are the main attraction for all indoors.

How much of a snowfall have you had.
it is unusual for ireland to have prolonged ice and snow.

It could be worst. Northern California hae an earthquake yesterday afternoon about 4:15 pm--9:15 pm your time. It was over 6.5 in magnitude. No deaths, some damage to buildins, power failures --about 25,000 and gas lines erupted in one area. But all is under control. Shops have had a lot of breakage of glass. Buildings and telephone polls swayed, some chimneys fell and decorative buildings' exteriors lost some of their cement design work.

All is quiet at present. One injury--a woman fell and broke her hip. It was frightening but they are managing, thank God.
