Glad to head Lui is making you proud as a schoolmaster - who would have thunk that he would be a schoolmaster when he was such a pain in the arse in his early years!?!

I'll have to catch up with you on Facebook - I'm finally there and I certainly do want to see more photos of my ex-horse.

Hi Melissa

Lui (French for HIM) was his main barn name from birth, while it took us near a month to come up with his registered name. He also got Luigi based on his whinny - Lu egggeeee, or woogee. At times he was "Whoa damnit", you'll know when those times kick in.

Lui showed in the AHA Yearling Sweepstakes Halter, I showed him Show Hack, Hunter Pleasure, Hunter Hack, Saddleseat (Country Pleasure), and Costume as well as the over fences classes. He is broke to drive and almost made it to the ring one day but the Pleasure Driving judge took an hour to judge the previous class and Lui just ran out of patience. I think he was 4 or 5 that year and we just never took him back in the ring driving but we did drive him at home a few more times.

Lui also completed several Competitive Trail Rides and was qualified for the AHA Regional Championships CTR. He also did a couple of 25 mile Mileage Rides (similar to Endurance but not as fast).

We attended a couple of Trillium (provincial level) Hunter /Jumper shows in both the Hunter and Jumper classes. He was competitive in the jumper ring and nice over fences but just didn't like hacking. Don't forget I'm talking about his pre 10 years of age years. He didn't mentally mature out until he was 9, the year before we sold him. Those early years he was a royal pain in the butt but worth every moment of being a pain when he was good.

PM me your home email address and I will send some more photos of him in his younger years to you.

He's an awesome ride and can save your butt in mid-air over jumps. He saved mine and Shawn Wardell's many a time over the years.

Hi Melissa

Allan told me a couple of weeks ago that Lui (his original barn name as life was all about him hence "Lui") had been sold to Sask. It's great to see that he is still going strong and going to be competing in the Arabian world again.

Miss the bugger at times but I also broke and showed him during his more challenging ADHD years. We sold him on to Wardell's once he had settled into himself and he went on to prove that he was fulfilling his destiny to do great things.

We still have his National Champion half-sister (same dam), Shades of Spring+, and local class A winning half-sister (same sire) Love In The Ayre.

Look forward to continual updates on my homebred multi-National award winning boy.
