Key West, PAG Declared horse of Tom Dvorak, owned by Claudia Demandt humanely put down last week.

Today,  Equine Canada announced the loss of 2011 Dressage Canada Long Listed horse and declared 2011 Pan American Games mount for Tom Dvorak, Key West, an 11-year-old bay Trakehner gelding. Equine Canada extends its deepest condolences to Key West's owners, riders, friends and fans.

Reserve Riders Named for WEG

Canada's WEG Dressage Team Announced Today!

Dressage Canada is pleased to announce the following rider/horse combinations have been named to the Canadian Dressage Team for the World Equestrian Games.



 



Ashley Holzer of Toronto, ON and Pop Art, a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Rusty Holzer and Moreen Nicoll, earned an average qualifying score of 72.329%.

Evi Strasser Picking Up WEG Scores in Europe



Over the past week, Canadian Olympian Evi Strasser has earned two WEG-qualifying scores with her Oldenburg gelding Quantum Tyme.

Strasser and Quantum Tyme placed fifth in the Grand Prix at CDI3* Hartpury, held July 14-18, 2010 in the United Kingdom, earning 67.404% from the panel of five FEI judges. The combination also scored 72.000% in the Grand Prix Freestyle, earning them fourth place.

CDI Wiesbaden -- Grand Prix Special

In a class won by Isabel Werth and Satchmo, Belinda Trussell/Anton placed 9th with a very respectable 69.167%. Shannon Dueck/Ayscha earned 65.208% ; Bonny Bonnello/Pikardi 64.458%. The next stop on the European Tour is CDI4* Lingen, Germany, June 4 - 6. Looking forward to bringing you the results. This CDI is the same weekend as the CDI3* Palgrave, where those riders not in Europe will be competing for their WEG qualification scores. Looks like I'll be busy posting!

CDI Wiesbaden

The first stop on the Spring European tour is underway. At the CDI3* Wiesbaden, Germany, Belinda Trussell and Anton earned 67.660% for eighth place in the GP on Sunday, May 23. Trussell had the unfortunate luck of drawing first to go, and Robert Dover commented on his blog that he felt the test was worthy of a 70%, and many people remarked the same to him. CDI 3* Lamplight, Freestyle Results Now in!

Canadians were 2nd & 3rd in the Freestyle, Sat, May 22. Victoria Winter and Proton earned 68.100% for second, while Jacquie Brooks & Gran Gesto were third with 67.300%. Tomorrow morning is the GP Special, and Gary Vander Ploeg with Cezanne and Jacquie with Balmoral are scheduled to compete.

CDI3* Kentucky Cup

Canadians are once again proving to be a force to be reckoned with at the CDI3* Kentucky Cup.
