Where Babuschka comes from.

Seven years ago I had to sell my only remaining horse, Sea Quest, due to the fact that I was neglecting him awfully. I had started my life as a community pharmacist and was finding the ridiculous working hours exhausting. Monday to Sunday 8 to 8 with every second Sunday off was not leaving enough time to give Quest the love and attention he needed. I was devastated. He was as happy as could be with a family of four going gaga over him.

From the beginning.

I started riding at age 3. I took lessons at the Ficksburg riding club and have memories of borrowing hard hats that never really fit. Our instructor was an english teacher at the local primary school and she inspired in me a love for all things horse.

Lessons were held at one of the towns polo player's stables but Miss Cloete made such a success of the club that they eventually could afford a piece of land and build stables and arenas.
