I found Little Rocky quite by chance and a great bit of luck.

I had ridden all my life as a child and had hunted, pony clubbed, and xcountried. Then I went and married a guy who did not really like horses and I did not really have time to ride. I really missed my horse fix so in later years I started to think about getting another horse. Over a period of about two years I drove the length and breadth of the country from time to time. I brought home loads of horses but I ended up selling a few of them on again for various different reasons. On the internet I saw an ad for a cob who sounded right. I rang, as I did so many times before, and made an appointment to see the horse. He was about 2 hours drive away and it was Christmas week. When I arrived, I knew straight away that the cob would not suit, trust me on this, it's just instinct. It was quite a nice yard with a number of stables, so I had to see all the other horses as it was a selling yard. Nothing. I was so disappointed. Then the guy's phone rang and he walked away to take the call. Of course I had to keep occupied, so I went wandering down the lower yard. Big difference down here. Not so good. Horses were thin and old and did not appear to have adequate fodder. I was sickkened. I looked into a couple of stables and then I heard the owner coming down. He was not best pleased but I insisted on seeing the rest of the horses in the other stables. He told me these were the horses owned by the people to whom he had sold new Hunters and he was fattening these for slaughter. In the last stable was a Chestnut horse who was so thin that his ribs were showing but he had enough spirit to turn his hind quarters to the guy. I fell in love. We agreed a price there and then and I collected Rocky the day before Christmas Eve 2008. Once I got him back in condition, I started riding him and have we had some fun since. I do not do anything except gentle hacking which is all both of us are fit for as Little Rocky is Aged and I am not much better. We have fun and we have dreams and in our dreams we are Gold Cup winners or finishers in the National or anything else we want to be. Life is Goooood.
