So last night was my ridding lesson.

It didn't go ahead.

I was home suffering with a cold, when a hurricane hit. Now see, the wind wasn't much of a problem. It was the rain. If the rain had been snow, then it would have been fine. But no-where here is built to handle that much rain. So obviously, my lesson did not go ahead. The horses should be fine, I haven't heard any report from any barns in my area that have flooded and horses needed to be moved. Besides for the race track, which the horses were cleared out Monday evening and early yesterday morning. The most damage seems to be fence railings and fallen trees. This hurricane was all over the news last night. I lived in an area that didn't get hit TO hard.

So since I have no story to tell, I will tell you a little about my self.

I am 16 and have been riding for about a year.
I own a dog.
Her name is Nikki.
She is my baby <3.
I do not own a horse.
I wish I did.
One of these days when I stop being involved with so much I will part lease a horse.
For those that know the Equine Canada levels, I am working on those.
I passed my level one back in April, and hope to go for my level 2's this April.
I've loved horses since I was a young girl.
But until recently was to scared of heights to ride!
Now I'm obsessed.
And can't wait to start show jumping!
I am graduating high school this year.
I am looking at going into massage therapy and alternate forms of medicine/treatment for animals instead of the traditional stuff.
I would love to be a top class rider!
But I doubt that will ever happen. I'd either need a lucky break of lots of monies.
Not to mention a lot more riding experience.
My favorite breeds are:
TB's
Clydesdale
Warm bloods
(You know things with height! I'm tall you know!)
I also like quarter horses and paints!
My favorite pony is (drum roll)
The Newfoundland pony!
That's all for now.

Oh yeah, does anyone know anywhere online to watch the WEG in Canada?

Well I have a horse but I don't know much about how to ride him and I would be scared of a hurricane... thank you for telling us about yourself!! Nice to meet you...

I hate when I stop learning/improving!
When I started riding again after a 7 week break( I was working with a youth camp and couldn't ride) I actually got really upset at my lack of muscle and skill! That's one thing I will always strive for, to be a good rider. And if being a good rider means improving myself, if not for my sake, but for the horses, then I'll do it.

I am sorry you did not get to ride, it IS awfully hard to argue with a hurricane, though.
I am glad that you want to become a GOOD rider. TB's can be very good at insisting that you ride properly! Being a GOOD rider is a goal I've had ever since I learned that good riders existed (most of my life), and the key is to never give up on improving. Doing it all "just good enough" is tempting, but then I tend to stop improving and often start to deteriorate. I've noticed that most really good riders never stop learning.
Perfection is an ever elusive goal, but on horseback at least you get to have a lot of fun while you learn!
