What a great week it was at Palgrave. Beautiful weather, great
jumping and lots of wonderful horses. Chris course designed 2 hunter rings all week. The show ran so well that the over 150 trips in each ring ended by 4 pm every day. Today he set a very interesting and challenging Equine Canada Medal for the 3'6" junior riders. Over 25 took part and many mastered the subtle tests he built into the track. We are very fortunate in this area to have lots of very gifted young riders. I had the opportunity to judge the East Hunter ring which is designated for the lower children and adult hunter divisions. It is always so much fun to see the excitement these riders bring to the ring. It's not just another day at the hunter ring for them but a new experience either for the newer riders to our sport or more experienced riders starting new horses. And then of course there are the adults who are there truly to enjoy a day with their horse. Each division had over 25 entries which shows how well our sport is weathering the economic recession. Let's hope it keeps up. At the end of today I was able to catch the end of the $50,000 Grand Prix. Leopaldo, the Olympic Course Designer put together a great track that found Amy Millar beating our Olympians including her Dad. Congrats to a a very talented up and coming rider. Tomorrow evening we are off to Edmonton for the Edmonton Northlands Horse Show. It should be another exciting week. We'll let you now how it goes. Cheers for now. Evie
