Black and Blue, and a Bit Swollen Too!
Tuesday, September 14, 2010 started out just like every other day. I woke up to my radio alarm playing virgin 99.9, I brushed my teeth, got dressed, and took my morning E3Live supplement. I put the leash on my puppy, Quigley, and headed downstairs.

I grabbed my bike and headed out for our morning bike run. We biked to the Whitby Promenade with the gorgeous lake and harbour views. Quigely runs loyally beside me and we made some regular stops along the way.

We were headed toward home, on the final stretch down Brock St, when we
saw a pedestrian walking their dog up ahead. Many people exercise their
dogs in the morning, so this wasn't an unusal occurance... except when
we went to pass the pedestrian the dogs decided it would be a good idea
to meet up.

Not such a good idea.

I went flying head first into the pavement.... blood started spraying
from my head and I was immediately dizzy and nauseous. Luckily a police
car was driving by at the exact moment and pulled over and called the
ambulance.

I spent the day in hospital - cat scan and the works. Thankfully I am okay! Nothing serious, just battered and bruised with an eye so swollen I couldn't open it.

Perhaps I should stick with the horses and forget the bike?

Maybe Whitby should consider separate bike and pedestrian lanes?

Always wear a helmet while riding a bike.... or a horse for that matter!

My lesson is learnt - slow down and be more careful when passing pedestrians with dogs.

A special thank you to Andrea (staff member) that filled in last minute to take care of my horses and fill in for me with some urgent appointments.

The doctor told me 4-6 weeks for my eye to fully heal.... but the doctor didn't know I am taking an E3Live supplement... would this speed my healing? See how I heal and follow the E3Live study for Humans, visit: http://www.lfequestrian.com/E3Blog.php?category=2
